Resting day

It's not fun to wake up too early because your stomach hurts, but I tried to make the best of staying home sick by painting my nails. My awesome husband was able to come home from work early, and brought with him some much needed groceries. Good news is... I have the weekend to hang out with Ryker (husband) and rest a bit more before work on Monday. Thank goodness we have only 29 days until we board our flight to Tianjin, China. Just holding out until then!

Never buying socks again!

From the time I was old enough to understand the word, "heritage", I've been proud of mine. My Dutch Grandma taught me how to knit when I turned eight years old. I consider this a "right of passage" to a closer relationship and higher level of understanding with my Grandma and my Dutch roots. After all, knitting is a skill and hobby that has been handed down through generations, my Grandma taught me to knit just like her Mother and Grandmother taught her. I have continuously knitted since then (now twelve years ago) and yesterday I finished my first pair of socks! This is an accomplishment for me because I've always believed that if you can create a sock, you can create anything.
